Zheng Zhang is a professor and the Director for Institute of Hepatology of 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Southern University of Science and Technology and Shenzhen 3rd Hospital in Shenzhen, China. He received his doctoral degree (M.D. and PhD) in Immunology and the Infectious Diseases from Beijing Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Beijing, China (2005). Then he received his postdoc training at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) from 2009-2010 and 2013-2014. He mainly focuses on the translational study from clinical immune characterization to immune intervention in patients with chronic HBV, HIV or Tb infection in clinic. Currently, using scRNAseq and CyTOF et al, he is addressing the regional immunology of liver, gut and lung where infectious diseases are usually occurred. In recent years, he has obtained more than 24 million RMB grants from the National Grand Program on Key Infectious Disease, National Key Basic Research Program of China (973) and National Science Fund for Outstanding Young Scholars as well as National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is also the reviewer for J Immunol, J Hepatol, Hepatology, PlosOne, et al. He has published more than 85 papers as first/or corresponding authors in the journals such as N Engl J Med, J Clin Invest, Gastroenterology, Blood, Hepatology, Nat Rev Gastroenterol Hepatology, J Hepatol, Plos Pathog, AIDS and J Immunol so on. And there are 6 papers received positive comments from the same journals such as J Clin invest, Blood, et al.
